What is your business all about? What do you sell/do?
Scratch Deli & Café is a casual, urban restaurant with gourmet deli sandwiches, paninis and scratch-made salads. We serve locally roasted coffee from Two Brothers and offer espresso, tea and cold brewed coffee (on tap!). Our full-service deli offers domestic and imported meats, cheese and house-made salads, as well as catering and party trays made to order. We recently extended our hours to offer unique Madison Street night life – a wine & cheese lounge on Saturdays and fondue night each Friday. SDC hosts private parties and can accommodate up to 50 guests in our unique space.

Why did you decide to open in Forest Park?
Patrick O’Brien opened Scratch Kitchen & Lounge three years ago and when the space across the street became available, it was a natural place to expand. SDC allows us to offer a new menu, enter the coffee scene, and provide a space where we can host unique evening events and private parties. We love Forest Park and our concept works well with the community. We often participate in neighborhood festivals and events in Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park. Follow our food around the suburbs!
What would locals be surprised to hear about you, your business or your inventory?
Last year, Scratch Kitchen was featured on Chicago’s Best! We are excited to offer local, Chicagoland products at Scratch Deli & Café and have received lots of positive press about our new concept. We love local business! Take 15% off every Monday if you own or work at a business on Madison Street.
